Port Huron Franchise Press Conference Scheduled

Detroit, MI – The National Roller Hockey League is pleased to announce a press conference is scheduled to introduce the Port Huron franchise. The announcement is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2019 at 6:00pm. The press conference will introduce Port Huron and surrounding communities to the National Roller Hockey League and new franchise. The NRHL will release the Port Huron team name, logo and home arena; as well as showcase the NRHL. There will be time for questions for press and fans at the conclusion. The press conference will be streamed live online, then posted to our YouTube channel and other social media outlets.

 

Earlier this week, The NRHL created a signup list for those interested in tickets and team merchandise as part of the news release for Port Huron being granted a franchise. Bob Hall, the NRHL VP of Business Development stated, “We work on the lists to get the ball rolling in the community – it is absolutely rolling full steam ahead. Those who have signed up will receive an invite to the press conference”. The invitations will be distributed via the email addresses submitted from those signed up on the list.

 

Port Huron will join the Detroit Dragons as the second officially named NRHL franchise, and fourth city granted a franchise. NRHL Co-Founder & Commissioner Bob Clouston stated, “We are excited to officially announce Port Huron. I have been interested in the community for some time”. Clouston concluded, “We are excited to have Port Huron in the NRHL – I enjoyed my time playing in there”.

 

Port Huron has been home to professional hockey for a long time, dating back to the 1960’s when the Port Huron Flags played in the International Hockey League [IHL]. “I remember coming to Port Huron to play the Beacons in the UHL when I was on the Muskegon Fury,” stated Trevor Johnson, the NRHL’s Vice President of Corporate Relations & Expansion. He continued, “The community is going to be excited for the things we have planned for our games. Port Huron is a great city with passionate fans”.
